Q: How do you choose the wineries in the guide?
A:
Our recommended wineries do not pay to appear in our guide. We make our decisions based on our experiences with the winery. Is the wine worthy? Is the place unique? Do they offer a memorable visit? We ask ourselves if we could only go to 4 or 5 wineries, where would we go? A good winery is one we can't wait to tell our friends about.

Q: How are the guides different from other travel guides?
A:
Our concept is offering you a Perfect Day. We start with breakfast, a scenic walk, a little wine tasting, lunch, more tasting, well, you get the idea. We don't review everything there is to do. We also seek out the newest or most unique. We make special arrangements with small boutique wineries for you to get private tours and tastings. There's also Sonoma Walk and Shop tour that tells you where to find the best stuff in and around the Plaza.

Q: Why are you the experts?
A:
We live in Sonoma. We spend every week visiting all the new stuff, revisiting existing places, and mourning the closing of others. We know about places and things that even most residents don't know about. We've been doing this for four years now and we've got it down.

Q: If I find a great place, do you want to know about it?
A:
You bet. We'd like to hear about all your experiences good and bad. We're interested in your feedback. It's the only way we have to find out what a visitor's experience is like.

Q: What about those hikes, are they hard?
A:
No, they're more like walks but "hikes" sounded cooler. Although there are some rigorous hikes you can take in the areas we suggest. There are also some killer mountain bike rides.

Q: Do wineries expect me to buy wine if I taste?
A:
No, tasting is just that but they do expect for you to be well behaved, respectful and if you don't care for the wine it's best to keep it to yourself. If you do enjoy the wine, why not take some home with you? (or ship it, many wineries have worked out the maze of regulations so that they can ship to most states). Even if their wine is available at your favorite grocery store or wine shop, they often have unique varietals offered only at the winery. You may find you are kicking yourself when you get back home and didn't buy that special wine you just loved in the tasting room.

Q: How many wineries should I visit in a day?
A: Usually most people recommend three to five wineries, but they have a saying in the valley "The first two stops you’re tasting, after that it's drinking." We think you should stop when it starts feeling like too much work or too much fun.
